Turon Soy Candle

My mom is the most resilient person I know. She uprooted her whole life and came to Canada for a promising future for me. 

As a young woman, adulthood came quickly and she had to learn many new things. Papang (my dad’s paternal lolo) taught her how to cook, and one of the things that she became really good at was Turon.

It was soo good that it is requested often by yours truly (me!)

Turon is a Filipino dessert and is a fried banana egg roll, jack fruit, and caramelized sugar. My mom would cook these on Sundays.
