Noche Buena Soy Candle

Nochebuena ✨ for as long as I can remember my family has always celebrated it. It was something I looked forward to, we’d have fresh oven-baked pandesal, pineapple ham, queso de bola (a cheese ball!), and hot coco, but not just any regular hot chocolate. My mama would boil water, milk and she would have this cylinder of chocolate that she would get at the local Filipino bodega. She would use this same chocolate for champorado the next morning.

There was something very special about this hot chocolate. We would sip it at midnight with our pandesal sometimes it was at our house and sometimes at my Ninang’s home and my titas would chismis while the Tito’s would just listen and or watch whatever sport was on as we all gathered around the kitchen and the living room with the Christmas tree all lit up. That calm cozy good night.
